Sugarpill "Heartbreaker" palette

Hey everyone! So today I did a look using all four colors from Sugarpill's "Heartbreaker" palette.  First, let me show you guys some color swatches.

(From left to right: Acidberry, Velocity, 2am and Mochi)

Aren't they gorgeous? I think this is my favorite Sugarpill palette. The swatches were done after using a translucent primer.

Now let's see the look I did shall we?
As always, I will have all the products I used listed at the end :)

(Dress from Forever 21)

I love this palette because it just so happened to match my dress!

I wanted to do a colored brow so badly but there was already so much going on, haha. I think I'll do one for my next look.

That's it! What did you think? This look is so colorful and outgoing and I absolutely adore it. I felt extra awesome having my matching dress on too :D

Normally I don't post my blogs so late at night but today I was just taking my sweet ol' time.

Also, my friend Lena came up from Florida today! I haven't seen her in some months so I was pretty excited. She brought her baby girl here to spend some time with her dad (my best friend Deej) and his family.

Here's Lena walking to come say hello to me:

She caught me trying to take a picture from afar and was hiding her face the whole time. Camara shy but I still love her, haha.

And here's a tree I took a photo of when I was sitting on the porch earlier. I love the fall and this tree just made me so happy with it's beautiful changing leaves:

I couldn't get the damn camera to focus for anything but at least you can still see the colors nicely.

Another thing I wanted to share with you all is this wonderful poetry book:

I bought this book a while ago at Borders (a book store, now closed). I love thumbing through this every once in a while to get inspiration. I think I'm going to start posting more of my poems on here. If you like poetry then post some of your work in the comments section below. I'd love to read everyone's writing! And tell me what helps you get inspired to write a poem. I don't write that often but when I do I just let me emotions pour out. I write the best when I"m extremely angry or sad. I take those feelings and fuel passion to my pen (or keyboard) then write until I feel better.

Well, that's all I have for everyone today. Now I'm going to relax and watch Hell on Wheels (another favorite show of mine). Anyone else watch this show?

I love me some Bohannon, hahahahaha.

Alright, everyone have a good night.

Ciao!

away with the streets

Today's blog post is a little different. I've been out of the house all day so I didn't get a chase to do a makeup look but I did promise a post everyday so I will leave you with something else.

A poem. I write poetry on the side and what better way to share it than a blog. I want my readers to know as much of me as I can and I feel poetry leads a deep connection from the writer's mind and their heart. The title is "Away With the Streets". I hope you all enjoy.

There's a little bit of nothing coming my way
There's a little bit of me on the highway
Look what happens when you leave your seat
You end up on the streets

There's my shoe over by the railing
Just in time, a crowd here staring
It's like they've never seen a wreck before
The streets will make you it's whore

Opening doors is never easy
Not when you're firmly tucked in pieces
Airbags can't help you breath in life
The streets will make you fight

I didn't think to turn the wheel
Hell, I didn't think the streets could kill
With a stretch bed they'll come and save me
But the streets will take me

Happy reading :)

Ciao!

Rose Shock inspired

Hey everyone! This look I did was inspired by a blogger that goes by the name Rose Shock. I'm not going to post a photo of her on here because I haven't asked her permission for it. She has quite a number of fans and I was unsure how long it'd take for her to get back to me, and of course, I need this post up to complete my one a day goal! So, instead I will link you guys to her blog and her Facebook fan page :) Be sure to like and follow her if you enjoy her work!

Blog: http://roseshock.blogspot.com/

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RoseShock

Now I've done this look before but I didn't have any quality pictures so I decided to redo it and tweak it a bit. Hope you all love it because I know I do!

This look is so dramatic and nothing like anything I'd wear for my normal day to day routine but in the end I couldn't help but think it was fabulous.

The eyelashes are from Sugarpill. They're the "CatEye" falsies. It's like having butterflies on your eyelids, haha.

(Blazer from Forever 21)

Short and sweet but that's it! What are some other Rose Shock looks you all enjoy? Would you ever give this look a go? Now I just have to decide what I'll post for tomorrow!

Also, tonight's one of my best friends birthdays so I just want to give him a birthday shout out!

HAPPY FREAKING BIRTHDAY MIKEY!!! Lots of love and affection and hugs coming to you from my blog! Can't wait to party with you later. Love you always! xoxo

Haha, I've known him for about 7+ years and he hasn't let me down since. We don't talk as often as we should but I know I can turn to him for anything and he's one of those people that will be there ten month from now or ten years from now. I don't have a lot of people in my life that I trust but it's nice knowing I have a few keepers for life.

Well, that's all for now. Have an awesome autumn day everyone!

freckles & swagg

Today's look was inspired by owner of Swagger Cosmetics, Blake Karamazov :)

I stumbled upon Swagger Cosmetics a few months ago, which in turn led me to Blake. I think she has a wonderful, outspoken style and suddenly I found myself inspired by her color pops and tattooed freckles (I think tattooed freckles is such a genius idea!).

(I have my own little bow :D And we both have monroe piercings. We're twins!)

The look I created isn't as dramatic as Blake's looks but I didn't want to recreate her makeup, I wanted to create my own look representing how I see her (which is fabulous, fun and feminine).

I love Blake's aqua blue hair but for my pop of color I chose pink (to match my pink floral skirt).

I added the two dots right above the wing to represent Blake's wonderful freckles! I guess I have eye freckles? Haha.

Anyway, the look is pretty simple and fun and I was happy to feel like I had a touch of Blake in my own personal swagger (I know, I'm lame!) The only thing I wish I could have done differently is to create this look with Swagger Cosmetic pigments! I haven't gotten my hands on them yet but I plan on it in the near future. Oh! And the Swagger products are handcrafted vegan cosmetics. Who wouldn't want to play with that?

If you haven't checked out Swagger Cosmetics yet then just follow these links to find out more about it.

Be sure to like her Facebook page here: Swagger Cosmetics FB page

Check the official website: Swagger Cosmetics

Well I hope this blog inspires anyone reading this right now! What do you guys think of Blake? What inspires you when your creating a new, fabulous look? Let me know!

Jackie Chan and I are out like a fat kid playing dodgeball.

another Pat McGrath inspired look & some Sons of Anarchy talk

So I was reading my ELLE magazine (September 2012) and on page 428 I saw this look by Pat McGrath:

I thought it was such a pretty play of colors and just had to give it a go myself. As usual, I'll list the products I used at the very end :)

I blended it out a little more than McGrath does and I wanted it to be a little more subtle so I used colors just a few shades lighter.

I really love how the colors mesh together and I think this is a perfect transition look from summer to fall.

I finally learned how to use my camera properly (I'm such a dummy) and the close ups came out extremely nice and true to color.

(I look so fair-skinned from afar. Could be the flash?)

What inspires you? Let me know about your favorite fall 2012 looks!

On a side note, did anyone watch Sons of Anarchy last night? (Season 5, episode 3 I believe). If you haven't already then I suggest you skip this part because I'm about to spoil it for you!

For those of you that don't know, I'm a huge SOA fan, and an even bigger Opie fan. SOOOOOOOO... I can't believe Opie is gone! He was my television hunk, haha. I was so in love with him so you could imagine my devastation during this tragedy. I was watching it with my friend Deej and we were just laughing about the dick guard in jail having his fun. And when Jax said he was going to find him and kill him I was just thinking "HAHA, shit for brains" hahaha. And what about Tig? I wonder if Jax is really going to let Pope kill him. I love Opie so I definitely think Tig should have been the one in there instead but I don't know how I feel about him dying after everything that has happened. Let me know how you guys feel about it. And what about Gemma? She so much more bad ass this season, and Tara too! And screw Clay. I wish his hands would fall off already. Jax should have let Opie off him. Opie fans unite!

He's just so gorgeous! Opie lovers, isn't it kind of weird to know that he played Gerry Bertier in Remember the Titans? Regardless, Ryan Hurst will always be Opie in my eyes. If I ever saw him out of character in person I'd shake him and say "What are you doing! You're Opie and you're supposed to be dead! I love you..." Just kidding! Haha, kind of.

(This is me holding up my SOA blanket that I love oh so much. I bring it with me to my friend DJ's house when I go over to watch the show, haha. Oh and my hair looks blue because... it was :D)

(And this is the shirt I wear every Tuesday while watching Sons. Except today though, I couldn't find it and I was rushing to get to DJ's!)

I also have SOA plugs that I rock all day, everyday. I am not obsessive, just dedicated. But honestly, I really do feel way to much for fictional shows and fictional characters. But I know I'm not alone in this!

Anyway, I'll list the products. Comment and let me know what you think of this look or about SOA or better yet, both!

cat eye & purple brows

This look was inspired by makeup artist Pat McGrath. I was flipping through my Glamour magazine (September 2012) and I came across this look:

So I grabbed a little inspiration and did my own look. I used black liner instead of blue and I didn't cover the entire lid with it as Pat does. Instead, I went about half way across the lid and did a double winged tip. It's pretty much just an edgy cat eye. On top of the liner I packed it with shimmery black eyeshadow. I'll post the products I used at the very end. This look is very simple but I have horrible sleeping patterns (hence me posting this at almost 5am, haha) and I just wanted to do something easy yet fun.

I placed a small black dot a little ways below my lower lid. I placed it there for one main reason:
My tiny wrinkles under my eyelid made it really hard (and annoying) to try and place a little dot underneath! I see these models and I swear they just have the best under eyes, haha. So to avoid it altogether I just moved my dot down further :)

Oh! And since I used black instead of blue, I wanted to add a pop of color so I did purple eyebrows.

(Look at those under eye wrinkles and those bags! Oh well, aha, it happens to the best of us.)

(Sons of Anarchy plugs, heck yes!)

The Hunger Games

(Don't worry, I do have clothes on! Haha.)

Hi everyone! This look was inspired by the makeup look from the movie The Hunger Games. In the scene of the final ceremony, makeup artist Ve Neill used these awesome false lashes to create a simple, yet slight dramatic look:

Aren't those just fabulous? I believe in the movie she only used them on the top lids though.
I know you can buy them online from this website:

So since I don't have those lashes I just decided to do my own take on this look :)

I know it's not quite as fabulous but it was a simple and fun look to do!
(Look at those crazy eyebrows, huh!?)
If you want to know what products I used I will list them at the bottom of this post.

You can't see it that well but I actually used a teal colored mascara. It shows up really well when I use it on my bottom lashes but not so much on the top. I know the lighting is different in each photo but the one below shows the eyeshadow colors really well. The blue was actually light, yet bright and eye catching.

I hope everyone enjoys this! Follow up with me tomorrow for another look :)
