turquoise gradient tutorial

Hey everyone! So just as an update, I still have a funky blue scalp but it's fading. I managed to part my hair and look normal enough to do another makeup look :)

Today's look:

Today I did a turquoise gradient. Please don't mind my awful eyebrows. I started filling them in brown then wanted them blue so I just did both, haha. They look terrible but oh well! I decided to do something a little different this time and put together a picture tutorial for you all. Hopefully this is helpful and instructive :D Sorry about the different lighting in the pictures, I was messing around with the settings on my camera. This look was actually inspired by the shirt I'm wearing. It's my awesome galaxy shirt I bought from Forever 21!

And here's my lovely half & half face for the tutorial, haha.

***LET'S GET STARTED!***

• Step 1: After you prime your eyelid (I used Palladio herbal eye primer), outline the shape you want on your eye with a light colored eyeliner or eyebrow pencil. I suggest doing your foundation routine after the eyes are done in case of fallout. 

• Step 2: Fill in the shape you outlined with a cream base, this will help the loose shadow I'm going to use stick on my lid. I used Maybelline color tattoo eyeshadow in "Tough As Taupe". I absolutely love these eyeshadows. They stay on all day and don't wear or slide off. An alternative to the color tattoos are NYX's jumbo pencils or MAC paint pots. Don't worry about covering the outline you made just yet, we'll go over it later with eyeshadow.

• Step 3: Pat your first eyeshadow color on the inner third of your lid. I used "Daydream" loose eyeshadow by Concrete Minerals. An alternative to this color would be NYX's loose pearl eyeshadow in "Baby Blue". If you don't have loose eyeshadows or don't want to use them you don't have to. For this look any frosty, pearl baby blue color will work. 

• Step 4: Pat your second eyeshadow color on the middle of your lid. Make sure to blend the color in with the first eyeshadow by gently overlapping the two where they meet. This will prevent any harsh lines from forming, leaving you with a beautiful blended look. For my second color I used "Mochi" pressed eyeshadow by Sugarpill Cosmetics but any light turquoise will do.

• Step 5: Now pat the next eyeshadow color on the outer third of your lid completing your outlined shape (don't forget to blend the colors where they meet). I used "Jade" loose eyeshadow by Ben Nye. To recreate this exact look, you can use any dark, bold green. Don't worry about any fallout, you can get that later. 

• Step 6: Take a black eyeshadow and outline the outer third of your design.

• Step 7: Gently blend out the black little by little until it's blended in with the "Jade" eyeshadow. Get rid of any fallout.

• Step 8: Line your upper lash line with black liquid eyeliner; you can also use gel liner if you prefer. Follow the design you made and draw a cat eye shape with the liner.

• Step 9: Extend the eyeliner all the way down the top inner water line. Connect it with the bottom water line to make an inner cat eye point. 

• Step 10: Line the entire bottom waterline with black eye liner. Add mascara to the top and bottom lashes and you're done!

Then you can complete your foundation routine if you decided not to at the beginning and you should have something like this:

colorful arabic eyes

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! How was your weekend?

Let's jump right into this makeup thing. I was playing around with a bunch of colors and ended up doing this beautiful colorful arabic look:

I did use the lashes that I bought and showed you all on a previous post but here's the photo again so you can see what I used:

I was a little disappointed thought because you can't see the blue on the lashes when I had them on. It must be because my eyeliner was so thick and dark. I'll have to do another look with them against some lighter shades.

Even though you can't see the blue in the falsies, they still gave a really fun shape :)

(I did the double winged liner with this look for some extra flare.)

What do you think? There are a ton of arabic inspired looks out there and honestly, I love them all. The style is just so bold and beautiful. A key part to this look is the dark, heavy liner and bordering your entire eye with it.

I'm still trying to figure out what look I'll do next but I guess you'll all just have to wait to find out! I was also thinking of dying my hair. I want to do a bold, deep red but I'm not sure yet. What color do you guys think I should do?

Sugarpill "Heartbreaker" palette

Hey everyone! So today I did a look using all four colors from Sugarpill's "Heartbreaker" palette.  First, let me show you guys some color swatches.

Aren't they gorgeous? I think this is my favorite Sugarpill palette. The swatches were done after using a translucent primer.

I love this palette because it just so happened to match my dress!

I wanted to do a colored brow so badly but there was already so much going on, haha. I think I'll do one for my next look.

Normally I don't post my blogs so late at night but today I was just taking my sweet ol' time.

Also, my friend Lena came up from Florida today! I haven't seen her in some months so I was pretty excited. She brought her baby girl here to spend some time with her dad (my best friend Deej) and his family.

She caught me trying to take a picture from afar and was hiding her face the whole time. Camara shy but I still love her, haha.

And here's a tree I took a photo of when I was sitting on the porch earlier. I love the fall and this tree just made me so happy with it's beautiful changing leaves:

I couldn't get the damn camera to focus for anything but at least you can still see the colors nicely.

Another thing I wanted to share with you all is this wonderful poetry book:

I bought this book a while ago at Borders (a book store, now closed). I love thumbing through this every once in a while to get inspiration. I think I'm going to start posting more of my poems on here. If you like poetry then post some of your work in the comments section below. I'd love to read everyone's writing! And tell me what helps you get inspired to write a poem. I don't write that often but when I do I just let me emotions pour out. I write the best when I"m extremely angry or sad. I take those feelings and fuel passion to my pen (or keyboard) then write until I feel better.

Rose Shock inspired

Hey everyone! This look I did was inspired by a blogger that goes by the name Rose Shock. I'm not going to post a photo of her on here because I haven't asked her permission for it. She has quite a number of fans and I was unsure how long it'd take for her to get back to me, and of course, I need this post up to complete my one a day goal! Now I've done this look before but I didn't have any quality pictures so I decided to redo it and tweak it a bit. Hope you all love it because I know I do!

This look is so dramatic and nothing like anything I'd wear for my normal day to day routine but in the end I couldn't help but think it was fabulous.

The eyelashes are from Sugarpill. They're the "CatEye" falsies. It's like having butterflies on your eyelids, haha.

Haha, I've known him for about 7+ years and he hasn't let me down since. We don't talk as often as we should but I know I can turn to him for anything and he's one of those people that will be there ten month from now or ten years from now.
