update & short poem

I'm backkkkkk! And I totally have an awesome makeup look to post for you guys tomorrow!

The cabin was fun. I was going to bring my camera but you know how it goes, you always have to forget something. This time, my camera was it. The hills were such a gorgeous scenery ; It was a painting of golds and reds. I didn't get to go to Pumpkinville but I did wake up to bacon and pancakes this morning. Can't complain right?

I don't have any makeup looks to post so let me leave you with yet another poem.
This one is titled "Walking Beauty".

She's gorgeous,
Even her aura makes the sun shine politely.
Though the moon does not take to her as likely.
Now she's cold.
As she walks she sees the mask fall off her shadow.
She wants the darkness to hide her expression.
She knows she'll never learn her lesson.
And though she's adored, she's alone.
And all she wants

Is to forget.

Tune in with me tomorrow and thanks for reading!

farewell

Goodbye everyone.

It's been a good run...

JUST KIDDING, haha. I'll be gone just today and tomorrow! Joe's family owns a cabin in Franklinville so we're going up there this weekend. It'll be the last time of the year I believe but it'll be bundles of fun! So I have this post up but I might not have one up tomorrow (depends on what time we get home). But I do have a wonderful makeup look waiting for you all when I return!

(Old photo but look, blue eyebrows!)

I hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing weekend because I know I will.

Catch you guys soon!

this is me

Today I really wanted to share with everyone a poem I wrote that gives you a glimpse into my heart and soul. All of my poems are personal but this one holds a lot of me in it. I want to color this poem red because that's the color of my spirit :)

I was never the relationship type of girl. I never took the chance of dating someone just to simply have someone there. The first guy I actually dated was someone I didn't even romantically like. My best friend had to talk me into giving him a chance, saying that I might learn to like him in the long run.

And I did.
But I didn't love him.
I said I did and it was wrong to lie. But I didn't know how to say no.
I know better now.

You see I'm the type of girl that believes in the old-fashion way of love. You say love because you feel it. You say love because you see it in their eyes. I don't believe that love can tell time, but when it's there, you just know.
My second boyfriend was my first love. This was hard because I'm the kind of girl that believes in one love. I said I loved him and I meant it.

I didn't know love could die.

He left me when things got tough.
He said he loved me but it wasn't enough.

I didn't know love could be reborn.

I have a boyfriend that I love very much. I've given him my heart and all of my trust. I know that his heart shares the same feelings as mine but it makes me sad that I can't believe his words. I know he means it when he says he loves me but I can't believe that he will never leave me.
I made that mistake before and I felt a pain I didn't know could exist.

I am not naive.
I am not dramatic.
I believe in the old-fashion way of love.

I have a boyfriend that I love very much. He shouldn't have to wait for me to believe him but he does. And I thank him everyday for being so patient.

A part of me really hates my ex-boyfriend.
Only because I don't believe an ex should exist.
It's not his fault.
But he showed me that love could die.
And I never want to cry like that again.

Tell me what you think.

a touch of red

Hi! I know I said I was going to use those new false eyelashes I bought but I was really in the mood to do something red :) SO I was on youtube and saw a tutorial for a "wearable red" makeup look and I decided to give it a go.

Here's a link to the video I watched:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JAK-GZS88I&feature=g-user-u

So this is what I did:

I did do a colored brow though! I did a gradient from black to red. So nice! Here are some more photos:

Sorry I don't have a lot of photos for today's post. I did this look around 4am because I was still awake and bored. Sometimes I just can't sleep and then this is what I do, haha. That works out for you guys though! It ensures I do a new makeup look everyday :)

What color should I work with next?

(This is my "I'm so sleepy" look, haha.)

Well that's all I have for you all today! Leave me some comments and I'll respond back. I'm just jamming out to some Alice Deejay right now :D

a gothic look

Hi everyone! Today I didn't have a clue as to what kind of look I wanted to do so I just started slapping on some eyeshadow and this is what I came up with:

I started out doing a cut crease with Sugarpill's "2 am" and then it turned into this! With my dark hair and deep red lips I just thought it turned out to be a very unique, sophisticated gothic-y look.

Here are some more photos:

I decided not to go over the crease with too much color because I wanted the look extended out horizontally instead of the more traditional styles. It took me a little bit to get used to the shape I created on my eyes but I eventually just ran with it and thought, "Hey, this doesn't look half bad".

If you enjoy this look and my other work,  please like my Facebook page:

This look was just something different I tried and in the end I think it would make for a fantastic Halloween vampire look (or any other dark/gothic look). Would you give this look a try?

And that's it! I went to the mall right after I applied this makeup and I for sure thought I was going to get some weird looks but I didn't! I think it was me just being self consious because I've never played with this shape on my eyes before. I didn't even have any lipstick or eye lashes on at that time which made me feel like my makeup was underdone, haha. I had to wait until I got home to add those on for the pictures.

Speaking of eyelashes, I bought another pair today. I don't remember the name of the store I purchased them from because well, the Galleria Mall is freaking huge and who can remember all of those stores anyway? Anywho, the name of the brand is Baci Lingerie (weird, right?) and here is what they look like:

They actually had a pretty awesome selection of lashes to choose from. There was a bunch on display (I'm assuming because Halloween is coming up) and I decided to pick these gorgeous babies up!

Each box of lashes had a picture of what they looked like worn on the eyes. Here's what's on the opposite side of the box I bought:

How pretty! I think I'll be doing a look with these lashes for my next post. Maybe I'll finally do another colored brow as well :)

I also picked up this topcoat:

(Brand is Nails Alive. Sorry, I know it's a little hard to see.)

Have any of you ever tried this polish before? I really hope it does what it says and keeps my polish from chipping. I'll let you guys know how it works!

And I have one more thing to share with you. I picked this up from Hot Topic:

How freaking cute is that!? Hahahaha. I bought this one and two other ones (one for me, one for my friend Lena and the other for my friend Gabe). Lena will be leaving soon and I hardly see my friend Gabe so I thought these would be a cute token of our friendship, haha. Here's a photo of my Voodoo Doll outside the box.

They're so tiny but I love that, and mine has a little sword on her waist! Len's has crazy blonde pigtails and Gabe's has a hugeeeee heart on it's chest. I don't know what to name mine yet. I have another doll similar to this one that I got out of a candy machine for 50¢ (I named her Sally and clipped her to the side of my purse), but I don't know about this little gal yet. Any suggestions?

Well, that's all the nonsense I have for you today.

What's some of your favorite unique looks?
What are some of your favorite candy machine toys?

Let me know!

Until next time everyone :D

this is why I bite my lip, you prick

Hey everyone! I'm pushing for time but I want to make sure that I hit my "one a day" blog post goal. I do have a makeup look for you all and I will post it up in just a little bit. I was caught up watching the new episode of Sons of Anarchy! But I'm back on track now :)

So until I get the makeup look done I will leave you with a poem titled "This Is Why I Bite My Lip You Prick". Catchy, right?

I've been wondering for days about the juice that fuels this pain.
I feel it seeping through my heart the slowly crawl into my veins.
I feel it bleeding from my eyes then it draws back into my brain.
It wraps around my aching core and faintly pulls away my shame.

I don't worry about bottles like others do to hide their thoughts.
I leave my everything inside me; underneath my skin it rots.
From time to time I peel my layers just to keep the outside raw.
And then I'll burn all my desires just to watch my passion fall.

I take these words to form a rhythm in hopes to match this beating heart.
A little bird flew up and told me that the worst is where you start.
Can we just smash our souls together so we won't face this world apart?
I should have known you'd leave me searching.
You hide away like city stars.

I've been wondering for days about the juice that fuels this pain.
I feel it seeping through my heart the slowly crawl into my veins.
I feel it bleeding from my eyes then it draws back into my brain.
It wraps around my aching core,
Nestled up and here to stay.

Alright so let me know what you guys think!

I'll be back with another post soon :)

not so mellow yellow

Hello! I bet you all thought I wasn't going to make my deadline for today right!?
Well if you did then you were wrong! I am crunching for time and typing faster than ever though, haha.

Anywho, here's my look for today:

(This photo's lighting is different because of the flash. Let's face it, I'll never be a perfect photographer!)

This look is so simple and easy; I just fell in love. I officially name this my favorite fall season makeup. All I used was Sugarpill's "Buttercupcake" and some black eye liner. Add a deep red lip and you're golden! I don't have a lot of blushes (I only have three) but I wanted a light, peachy cheek and all of my blushes are pink! So I improvised and used a matte MAC eyeshadow instead. It worked like a charm ;)

Here are some more photos:

(This reminds me of a beautiful sunflower.)

I used the same Ardell eyelashes that I did in my "Heartbreaker" post. I don't have a lot of falsies but I want to buy more, especially ones from Sugarpill. I think I only have this pair and the "CatEye" Sugarpill pair actually. A while ago I bought a bunch of lashes for cheap from eBay. I got 80 pairs for around $8 - $10 (?) I can't remember exactly.

Here's a link to those eBay lashes if you're interested: 80 Pairs of Lashes / 8 Different Styles

It's not the same purchase I made but they're the cheapest "80 pairs" I can find on there. Hey, it's still a steal!

There's just something about a true yellow that I can't help but love completely. And this color really complements my skin tone very well. I felt like an autumn princess today! Now Sugarpill eyeshadows are already pretty bold on their own but to ensure that I got the brightest yellow possible, I used a white base and layered it all over my lid then blended it out to the brow bone. I recommend NYX's jumbo pencil in "Milk". It's cheap and works like a charm, but any white base will do.

On another note, I haven't shared a picture of me and my beloved yet so I think I'll do that now!

I now present to you Mister Joseph Thurston, my love of over two years! He's pretty much my best friend and the best boyfriend ever. What more could a girl ask for?

Some facts about us:
  • We were friends before we started dating.
  • We live together.
  • I'm a couple inches taller than him (and proud of it!)
  • He is older than me by a few months.
  • We share a favorite color: red.
  • He bought me my camera so I could start a beauty blog :D (awwww!)
  • Our song is "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes
  • A while back I came up with this awesome joke asking him if he was "THURSTON for a cup o' Joe" and he absolutely hated it, hahaha. I think it's amazingly clever and if you agree then feel free to bomb this post with that phrase.
  • Everyone I know is disgusted and jealous of the happiness in our relationship. This is no "I'm trying to be a cute girlfriend" talk either. Literally, all of our friends say we're so happy together that we make them sick.
I have one more person to introduce. Her name is Alex Zielinski and she is pretty much my other half and my "sister from another mister":

(One of my favorite photos of us. Alex and I on my 21st birthday!)

I became friends with her over 7 years ago and we've yet to break stride. She is an awesome photographer and is currently finishing her last year at RIT. I just don't even know where to begin a story with her because there's just too much. Our foundation is made of ramen noodles and everything The Nightmare Before Christmas has to offer. When we first starting hanging out, me, Alex, Mikey (the birthday boy in a previous post remember!?) and our friend Derrick would all gather in my room and watch The Nightmare Before Christmas and eat ramen religiously. We still talk about it to this day, haha. I wouldn't change a thing. Especially about Alex. She's a tough cookie sometimes (aren't we all?) but she is the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for.

So that's a bit of us in a nutshell! I don't have a lot of close friends but sometimes I just feel so blessed to have these select few that love and support me the whole way through. I've built my life with them and they've all become the family I needed to get by.

Well I'm going to wrap it up.

I wish fall wasn't such a short season. I love it too much. Autumn colors, layers, scarfs and boots. I love it all! But that's all I have for you guys tonight. I hope you enjoyed this look and learning a little bit about me and my friends. Let me know what some of your favorite fall looks are :)

Oh, and remember:
Family is far more than blood.

Ciao!
